『濡れ女』は、 海に現れる女の妖怪である。 島根県の石見地方では、 濡れ女は牛鬼が人間を 海に引き込む際に 手助けするといわれる。 海辺を歩いていると 赤ん坊を抱いて全身ずぶぬれの女が どこからともなく現れ 少しの間赤ん坊を 預かってほしいという。 その頼みを聞いてやると、 女は海に入っていく すると、代わりに牛鬼が現れ 襲いかかってくるのだという。 驚いて自分の腕の中に抱いていた 赤ん坊はいつの間にか 重い石に変化しており、 手に吸い付いて離れなくなっている もたもたしていると、 牛鬼が突進し殺してしまうそうだ。 Old Youkai 44 "Wet Woman" "Nure-onna" is A female youkai that appears in the sea.
