A World-Class Winery Trusted by Global VIPs - First Public Tour of “Toriivilla Imamura by Chateau Katsunuma”Showcasing the Charm and Terroir of Katsunuma, Koshu—Now Through NFTs
Located on just 5 hectares of exceptional terroir in Katsunuma, Yamanashi, Toriivilla Imamura(鳥居平今村) produces fine Japanese wines that reflect the character of the land and are shared proudly with the world. The name Toriivilla(鳥居平) comes from a historic vineyard once dedicated to offerings for the Shogun during the Edo period. Toriivilla Imamura(鳥居平今村) was established in 2007 by Chateau Katsunuma—Japan’s oldest privately owned winery, founded in 1877—on its 130th anniversary. It was launched with the aim of creating wines that express Japan’s unique identity and stand confidently alongside those from traditional wine regions. At the time, most Japanese wines were designed for supermarkets or as souvenirs. Starting from zero was seen as a bold move. But over time, Toriivilla Imamura(鳥居平今村) has earned recognition at well-known restaurants, appeared in airline first-class service, and been selected for global summits in Toyako and Hiroshima. Today, it continues to be appreciated by guests from around the world. Because of its small production, Toriivilla Imamura(鳥居平今村) has rarely promoted itself publicly—until now. As part of a regional revitalization initiative using NFT technology, we’re offering tickets to the first-ever public winery tour of Toriivilla Imamura(鳥居平今村). This is more than a digital offering. It’s an invitation to connect with the land, history, and spirit of Katsunuma—through the people who care for it and the wines that grow from it. We hope you’ll experience this story with all five senses.

About “Toriivilla Imamura by Chateau Katsunuma” (Koshu City, Yamanashi)
- A fine wine created by one of Katsunuma’s leading wineries, and an NFT project that supports the region that nurtures it -
Toriivilla Imamura(鳥居平今村) is a premium micro-brand by Chateau Katsunuma, a historic winery founded in 1877.
It is a small-scale brand that pursues the highest quality.
The name Toriivilla(鳥居平) refers to a vineyard that, during the Edo period, was known as a special site used for producing offerings to the Shogun.
Using grapes mainly from this exceptional plot—regarded as Japan’s Grand Cru—Toriivilla Imamura(鳥居平今村) has been making wine since 2007 that fully expresses the unique terroir.
The pure fruit flavor brought out by the finest cultivation, along with the minerality and vivid structure from the great vineyard soil, creates a remarkable balance.
These wines pair beautifully with the finest elements of Japanese cuisine.
In particular, the top cuvée Kamihishidaira (上菱平) has been featured in international airline first-class service and in top Japanese restaurants,
and has also been selected as an official wine at global events such as the G7 Summits.
It has been highly praised by top sommeliers and VVIPs as a wine that represents Japan proudly on the world stage.
Due to its small production, the winery does not engage in large-scale advertising.
Instead, it has focused earnestly on achieving the highest quality through careful vineyard work and winemaking, aiming to deliver deep emotional value to those who love the wines.
This NFT project is a new challenge that connects the history and future of Katsunuma, and is also part of a regional revitalization initiative.
As a winery that has long lived in Katsunuma and inherited Toriivilla, the most distinguished vineyard in the region,
we believe it is our mission to pass on the history, traditions, beautiful landscape, and the thoughts of the people through our wines.
Through this project using new NFT technology, we hope to carry forward the stories of Katsunuma and its people into the future.
